Sublimity in print.

What came, what was,
A hiss or an applause?

I dread myself, my thoughts,
For it can never fit
Nor form one simple clause;
As I doused through
Morsels and remnants
Of an idyllic notion,
Of fiddling emotions,
Lurking within my shadows—
I befall into the world’s caprice.

Drenched in my pain,
After all that’s lost,
Never did I dare,
Nor had the audacity
Of living in serenity;
Or so I thought?

Amidst dissonance,
There I found solace—
Like a warm embrace,
I found my pace.

I started to envision
A future brighter
than daylight,
A life more peaceful
than midnight.

And dare I say,

What came, what was,
Never a hiss, but an unending applause.
